Seed Exchange Fair 2022, Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico.
The time of the Seed Exchange Fair is approaching rapidly for the indigenous peoples of the Yucatan Peninsula. We want to support some native people of our region to continue cultivating the practice of seed exchanges.
Our project Ka'alán Neék, Guardianes de Semilla previously only supported one community to hold the fair. This time around, we want to support in a different way, so that these seed fairs can be held in the various communities where they have been held ritually for a long time.
The IKAL family extends its support to the Ka'alán Neék project in order to co-create and support these Seed Exchange Fairs. Our main venues this year will be the 6th. Seed Exchange Fair, Sachcab Mucuy, Quintana Roo, on May 21st and Sotuta, Yucatán, on May 28th.
For this to be possible we also need your help! If you are interested in participating in any way, donations are being accepted from now on to the following PayPal:
kaalanneek@gmail.com
We will have a list of all those who make donations to us so that we can send them videos and photographs of all these meetings, as well as to ensure transparency in regards to the use of funds.
Everyone's participation is of crucial importance, since many native seeds were lost in the hurricanes. The recovery process has been difficult, which is why the exchange of seeds is important, because it helps to supply those who have not yet been able to regenerate their milpas.
