RESTAURA: THE PATH TOWARD OUR TRUE NATURE
We are very grateful to all who opened their hearts and minds to unite in awakening consciousness and community for the greater good. Your participation and commitment at RestAURA help us to step into our True Nature.
Honoring the Voice of Wisdom
On March 16, the elders blew the pututo (conch shell) to mark the gateway into RestAURA 2023: True Nature. Surrounded and guided by the fire, we opened the directions and gave space and voice to Wisdom through the voices, chants, instruments, and prayers of wisdom keepers. Paths of the 4 Directions were weaved as represented by Abuela Ana Luisa from the Mexica tradition, Don Julio and his wife Janis from the Mayan tradition, Khenpo Samdup Rinpoche from the Drikung Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, Kike Pinto and his wife Lourdes Monroy from the Andean tradition, Ichiro from the Bridge of the Medicines of the Four Directions, and Ave Maya. We honored where we come from to envision where we are headed to.
We celebrated the first day of two days of consecration of the newly-built Stupa, guided by Tibetan lama Khenpo Samdup Rinpoche. The mantras emanated from the Tara Stupa encircled us all around. The voices of Benny Oyama, Moncaya, and Emanazul held and elevated us to the realm of the Mother.
Impeccable actions
Day 1 at RestAura 2023 kicked off in full power, with our elders sharing vision, music, and prayer in unison around the fire. This day too, was the final day of the Tara Stupa consecration, which brought together people from all walks of life under the protection and love of Mother Tara. Charles Michel moderated a panel with Martin Hopenhayn and Rafa Chaman on the essence, meaning, and layers of the concept of Impeccability: Impeccability as coherence, as integrity, as accountability, as the effortless, receptive, and responsive result of awareness. Women gathered by the fire to unite in power, light, and wisdom. Kike Pinto delighted us with his mastery and musical poetry, accompanied by Ichiro, Rafa Chaman, Moncaya, Benny Oyama, Emanazul, and Kyle Kesterson. We ended the day shaking our bodies and dancing by the fire to the deep rhythms of Afrikana.
A Common Rhythm
The full expression of RestAURA 2023 bloomed as the second day of our collective prayer unfolded. Heart-opening talks on Andean and Mayan Wisdom and the Essence of Aliveness. Meaningful conversations on plant medicine's current cultural and political state in Mexico and the world. Honoring the cacao and our hearts with our elders around the fire. We ended the day dancing to the colorful rhythms of Veracruz.
The second day at RestAura 2023 was about calling in Impeccability in our thoughts, intentions, and visions. Impeccable Mind, the day’s theme, brought us all precisely this: a clear, single-pointed mental state of peace, surrender, and light.
The Offering is Oneself
An Andean offering to restore the balance in our relations, starting with the relationship with oneself. A kids Kirtan to celebrate divinity and devotion with our smallest ones. A closing ceremony by the fire with our elders, asking permission to all beings to close what was opened. A mind-boggling magician, mentalist, and hypnotist Diego Winburn, and a soul-nourishing intimate concert in prayer with Sam Garrett.
We took this opportunity to offer all our aspirations, wishes, and virtuous actions to Mother Tara, represented in the heart of the newly-consecrated Stupa. We offered all possible merits of our time, work, expression, visions, and creations while together at RestAURA 2023 to benefit all beings. May the joy, commitments, visions, and prayers multiply to all beings in all directions and dimensions.
Our closing day at RestAura was a golden cherry on top of four full days of presence, honoring, community, art, beauty, expression, practice, prayer, and communion. We gave thanks to all beings, visible and invisible, who made this all possible. We thanked the team of organizers, artists, panelists, artisans, and all souls who brought their gifts as their offerings to RestAURA. And we gave profound thanks to the wisdom keepers, elders, lineage holders, abuelas y abuelos who came and offered themselves as vessels of what wishes to be expressed.
Don’t forget to continue calling peace and clarity into your mind, to sharpen the intention to benefit all beings in all we do.
