Let’s all be #MAKERS
We had the great privilege to host Makers Friendsgiving Beach Clean Up Day at Ikal Hotel for the second consecutive year, an event in collaboration with the Makers Global organization. Makers Global is a group whose objective is to influence directly and disruptively our society to accelerate the changes that humanity needs. They organize beach clean-ups as well as other ecology and sustainability related events in Mexico and Bali particularly.
We started the day with some Kundalini Yoga and Adi Shakti Meditation. We followed by some really interesting and engaging panel talks on diverse topics ranging from sustainability to spirituality. This year, Makers Day was centered around the theme of Water, this sacred element that nurtures all life on Earth and that finds itself endangered today. Around 4pm, the community gathered to do a group beach clean-up, focusing not only on collecting bigger garbage items but also using wooden sieves to remove micro plastics from the shore. We ended the day with a beautiful full moon astrology meditation and a cacao ceremony, followed by a drum circle and celebration with our soul-family.
As you may already know, sustainability and caring about our mother Earth is of utmost importance for us at Ikal, and so we hold this organization and Makers Day very close to our hearts. We had so much fun and learned a lot again this year, we spent the day with our minds and hearts wide open and left with our souls a little lighter. We are beyond grateful to have been able to share this day with you. We can’t wait to have you and Makers Global back at Ikal again!
