Familias del Mundo @ Ikal Hotel Tulum
On the 18th of December of 2021, we had the immense pleasure and honor of hosting the first edition of the Familias del Mundo event here at Ikal. Familias del Mundo is a community-based event where people from all over the world come to represent their countries. At this event, children and their relatives were able to learn about different cultures, traditions, spiritual practices, of different countries of the world!
We created this experience in collaboration with L.A.D.L.E. so that children may learn to appreciate the culture of other countries and witness what unites us as humanity, through their community. All countries presented themselves in different ways, some putting an emphasis on art, and others on food, games or music. Each family was given a "passport" as an entry ticket as well as to access and complete all of the activities proposed.
Los Amigos de la Esquina (L.A.D.L.E) is a learning community that generates experiences through recreational activities focused on children in Mexico, empowering and improving the quality of life of the children of Tulum, their first headquarters. They focus particularly on inclusivity, raising awareness, sociocultural exchange, as well as cognitive and socio-affective development.
The experience featured activities specific to each country, traditional games, a group dance class with live music, a closing concert, art shows and ancestral wisdom panels, to learn through play and sharing. We are so happy with the way it turned out, and so grateful to have these memories to look back on!:
